How GreenSweep works

GreenSweep turns free user engagement into verified environmental funding through a six-step process. Advertising partners pay GreenSweep when users register and vote. GreenSweep directs 70% of that revenue to environmental projects proportionally based on community votes; the remaining 30% covers operations during the initial period, with the Malta Purpose Foundation structure obligating GreenSweep to ratchet that fee down as rapidly as revenues allow. When corporate sustainability capital and matched funding are included, overall impact efficiency reaches 8596%. Projects must hold active certification under Gold Standard, Verra VCS, Plan Vivo, or another recognised standard. Every disbursement is logged on the public Impact Dashboard. Registration is free and takes under two minutes via email, WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok, or Telegram.

Partner advertisers pay GreenSweep for sign-ups. You don’t pay anything.

We pass 85–96% of that revenue to the verified environmental project you voted for.

Every transaction is proof-logged — a public, tamper-evident receipt anyone can verify.

STEP 2 OF 6

Browse Verified Projects

Once logged in, you see the Project Gallery. This is the heart of GreenSweep. Every project here is independently verified by Gold Standard, Verra/VCS, or Plan Vivo—the same standards used by governments, the UN, and major foundations.

You can filter by:

  • Project type: Reforestation, ocean cleanup, renewable energy, biodiversity, agriculture
  • Region: Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, Pacific
  • Verification standard: Gold Standard, Verra, Plan Vivo
  • Impact focus: Carbon, biodiversity, community, water

Click any project to see the full story: location, organization running it, impact metrics, timeline, and how your vote contributes. For example, a mangrove restoration project might show you:

Illustrative Example: Mangrove Restoration

  • Location: Sundarbans, India
  • Verification: Verra VCS Certified
  • Goal: Protect 10,000 ha of mangrove forest
  • Additionality: This reforestation would not happen without external funding
  • Status: Accepting community votes (illustrative)
  • CO₂ Impact: 5,000 tons avoided over 20 years
  • Community: 50 local jobs created
  • Funding Need: €500,000 remaining

No marketing fluff. No emotional manipulation. Just verified data. You know exactly what you're funding, where it's happening, and what outcome to expect.

STEP 3 OF 6

Cast Your Vote

You've found a project you care about. You click the Vote button. Your vote counts immediately.

Key things to understand about voting:

  • No cost. Voting is free. Always.
  • One vote per project, one account. You can vote for multiple projects, but only once per project per voting cycle.
  • Changeable until the cycle ends. You can change your vote anytime during the voting window. Only your final vote counts.
  • All votes weighted equally. Your vote counts exactly as much as anyone else's. No bidding. No paying for influence.
  • Public by default, private optional. Your votes are visible in the community leaderboard (username only, no personal details). You can opt to keep votes private if you prefer.

Your vote appears immediately on the project's running total. You can see real-time vote counts, helping you gauge community support. The Impact Dashboard shows which projects are winning votes and which need more attention.

Revenue Generated (Behind the Scenes)

When you create an account, vote, share with friends, or engage with the platform, commercial partners pay us. Your participation creates value — and that value flows to the environmental projects you choose.

GreenSweep generates revenue through three layers, each building on the last:

  • ~€2–3
  • Voting: ~€1–2
  • Referral: ~€3–5

These numbers add up across our user base. Today, each user generates approximately€11 in direct environmental funding.

The Three Funding Layers

1. Advertising (Live Today)

Cost-Per-Action partnerships generate ~€11 per user in verified environmental funding

2. Matching Funds (Coming Soon)

Philanthropic partners match community-directed funding, multiplying impact

3. Corporate Programs (Coming Soon)

Enterprises pay for employee engagement + CSR reporting features

Transparency is core:We don't hide this. Many platforms obscure how they make money. We tell you exactly. You're not a product; you're a stakeholder in a mission. The commercial value of your engagement flows to environmental projects, not into a venture capital fund.

Impact per user today: ~€11 in direct funding
Target: Up to €150 per user as all three layers mature

STEP 5 OF 6

Funding Allocated Proportionally

At the end of each monthly voting cycle, here's what happens automatically:

  1. We calculate total votes received by each project
  2. We count GreenSweep's platform revenue for the cycle
  3. We allocate 70% of platform revenue to projects based on voting proportions
  4. Matched funding and corporate sustainability capital flow 100% to projects on top
  5. A fixed 30% of platform revenue covers operations, compliance, and growth

Example: March 2026 Funding Cycle

Total revenue generated: €50,000

70% to projects€35,000
30% to operations€15,000

Illustrative example — community votes received across all projects: 10,000 votes

Project allocations:

  • Sundarbans Mangrove (3,500 votes = 35%)€12,250
  • Niger Delta Blue Carbon (2,500 votes = 30%)€8,750
  • Gnarrenburg Peatland (2,000 votes = 20%)€7,000
  • Other projects (2,000 votes = 20%)€7,000

This allocation is:

  • Automatic: No board meetings, no discretion. The algorithm runs.
  • Transparent: You can see every transaction on the Impact Dashboard.
  • Auditable: Full logs available for inspection. No hidden transfers.
  • Proportional: Your vote directly influences where funding flows.

Projects receive notification of their allocation and begin deployment immediately.

Allocation timing: Monthly, at cycle end

STEP 6 OF 6

Impact Verified & Tracked

The final step: impact verification. Projects publish quarterly reports using the same verification standards they were certified against. You can see results in real time on the Impact Dashboard.

Examples of what you'll see:

  • Reforestation: "150,000 trees planted in Q1 2026. Survival rate: 94%. CO₂ avoided: 2,500 tons."
  • Ocean cleanup: "Target: 47 tons of plastic removal. Goal: protect 250,000 marine organisms." (illustrative)
  • Solar: "3,500 households now powered by renewable energy. 18,000 tons of CO₂ avoided annually."

These aren't estimates. They're verified by third-party monitors using the same standards that governments and the UN accept. You voted for these outcomes. Now you watch them happen.

How Verification Works

Step 1: Project implements activities funded by GreenSweep

Step 2: Independent monitors measure outcomes (trees planted, plastic removed, etc.)

Step 3: Third-party verifiers audit the data against Gold Standard, Verra, or Plan Vivo standards

Step 4: Project publishes verified report on the Impact Dashboard

Step 5: You see the results and impact credit

This closes the loop. You voted. You generated funding. Projects implemented. Impact was measured. Verification was third-party. Results are published. No greenwashing. No ambiguity. Just real environmental work, real outcomes, real accountability.

Reporting: Quarterly per project
Verification: Independent auditors
Standards: Gold Standard, Verra/VCS, Plan Vivo

Why This Approach?

We could have built GreenSweep as a charity that asks for donations. Or a platform that takes a cut from project funding. Or a DAO with complex token mechanics. We chose this approach because it aligns three things perfectly:

1. User Incentives

You never pay. You never donate. You never feel guilt. You simply vote. There's no friction, no cost, no moral pressure—just a clean mechanism to direct where value should flow.

2. Impact Efficiency

70% of platform revenue is committed to projects from day one, routed via our CSR partners. With matched funding and corporate sustainability partnerships, overall impact efficiency rises to 85–96% of every euro in the system. Our operating costs are fixed — every additional euro flows entirely to the ground.

3. Governance Integrity

Funding follows votes, not board decisions. The algorithm allocates resources transparently and automatically. No discretion. No board politics. No founder capture. The community decides where money goes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay anything to use GreenSweep?

No. GreenSweep is completely free. Advertising partners pay GreenSweep when you register and vote. There is no donation, subscription, or payment from users.

How does my vote translate into funding?

At the end of each monthly allocation cycle, GreenSweep distributes 70% of its platform revenue across all active projects in proportion to their vote totals. A project that receives 20% of all votes in a cycle receives 20% of the funds available that cycle.

How much funding does each user generate?

At current advertising rates, each registered user generates approximately €11 in direct environmental funding. GreenSweep’s roadmap targets €25 per user (Phase 2) and €150+ per user (Phase 3) as corporate sustainability programmes scale.

What verification standards do GreenSweep projects use?

GreenSweep lists projects certified under Gold Standard, Verra (VCS), Plan Vivo, Peatland Code, MoorFutures, government-backed programmes, and others. Each project page links to its registry entry with verification reports, audit timelines, and issued credit quantities.

How can I verify where the funding goes?

Monthly disbursements are published on the Transparency page. Each report lists the project name, verification standard, amount disbursed, and the vote share that determined the allocation. The real-time Impact Dashboard also shows cumulative funding data.
