International conservation organisation running a long-standing mangrove restoration and community-monitoring programme in the Western Visayas.
The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is an international conservation charity founded in 1826, headquartered in London. ZSL's Philippines Mangrove Programme has run continuously since the early 2000s, focused on community-led restoration of degraded fishpond and shoreline sites across the Western Visayas (notably Iloilo and the Katunggan Ecopark in Leganes). The team trains local planters in Ecological Mangrove Restoration, contributes monitoring data to the Verra VM0033 blue-carbon methodology pathway, and runs environmental-education work with municipal partners and the Iloilo State College of Fisheries.
