The Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation (PRRCFI) manages Danjugan Island, a 43-hectare protected marine sanctuary off the southern coast of Negros Occidental, ringed by three reef sanctuaries. PRRCFI converted what had been a dynamite-fishing-degraded reef system into a recovering marine sanctuary: training over fifty local fishermen in alternative livelihoods, deputising ten staff as bantay-dagat (sea wardens), and running annual Marine and Wildlife Camps that have brought 200–400 students per year into hands-on conservation work since the 1990s. The site is partnered with the World Land Trust and connected to IUCN networks.
