🐠 Reef Restoration

Vaan Island was disappearing. Coral mining and overfishing stripped the reef that shielded the island from waves. UNDP deployed 6,000 artificial reef modules — underwater cities for fish to colonise. In seven years, the island gained back more than half its lost land. Fishermen who once dynamited reefs now guard them.
